I help students break down subjects, assignments, and problems into manageable pieces. I encourage steps in the right direction. I ask "what if questions" to reinforce concepts. I also review test preparation and test taking strategies.
I am experienced with Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, GED math, college placement tests, and preparation for the SAT, ACT, GMAT, SSAT, and ISEE. I also tutor Accounting, Management Accounting, and Cost Accounting.
During the past year, I have assisted students who attended high school grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 or middle school grades 7, 8, and 9 in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Dallas, Flower Mound, Frisco, Lewisville, and Plano. I also helped both undergraduate and graduate school students who were enrolled at these colleges and universities: Brookhaven College, Collin County Community College, Dallas Baptist University, Harvard University, Le Tourneau University, North Central Texas College, University of North Texas, Texas Tech, Texas Women's University, Tarrant County College, UT Arlington, and UT Dallas.
I have a lifetime Texas teacher certification in secondary math. In addition to teaching high school Algebra, I also taught supplemental Algebra classes to grades 3 through 6 in the Dallas ISD. With innovative techniques, those students mastered many Algebra concepts even though their primary math classes were strictly focused on arithmetic. I have been a professional math tutor at a community college and at a university. I have over five years of experience as a private tutor to students in grade 3 through college in all math subjects.
I am a certified public accountant with over ten years experience in public, commercial, nonprofit, and government accounting. I have taught both accounting at the college level and bookkeeping in a non-credit adult education program.
