To help you meet your academic goals, I will help you to learn more effectively and more efficiently. I ask what-if questions to check for understanding and help you see the relationships between concepts. I include strategies for studying, taking tests, and coping with the stress that students encounter. Between sessions, I will happily answer short questions off the clock by phone or by email.
For math students, I will help you translate the English in word problems into mathematical expressions that can be solved. You will improve your ability to use formulas and to know which formula to use. As needed, I will show you how to use the graphing calculator, Excel or both.
For accounting and finance students, I will walk you through how data flows through the accounting records from transactions to financial statements, how to analyze transactions so you can correctly record them, and how to interpret and analyze financial statements. As needed, I will show you how to use the financial calculator, Excel or both.

Brian did a tutoring session last week with me and I was very satisfied with the result. He was polite, knowledgeable, patient, and was concerned with my situation. I was very happy with the amount of effort and attention he provided. I highly recommend him.
Brian D. had the challenge of teaching me about QuickBooks while, at the same time, correcting and improving my novice attempt at using QuickBooks the previous year. He reviewed what I had set up, made suggestions for corrections and improvements, and then guided me through the steps to achieve our goals. He told me when I needed to ask my CPA for guidelines specific to my company; and then, guided me to implement my CPAs response.
At the beginning of each session, we reviewed my questions since the previous session, and he answered every one of them, as well as guided me in correcting my mistakes. At each session, he stayed as long as needed, until I was ready to continue on my own. At the end of each session, he reviewed what we had covered and achieved, and what I would be working on until the next session. Between sessions, I was able to e-mail (or call) him with questions; he would either respond with the answer, or we would handle it at the next session.
By the time I am ready to go 'solo,' I will be able to do so with confidence knowing I'm in control of my company, and that I am providing my CPA with accurate information on time! Life is good again, thanks to Brian D!
Mr. Brian greatly helped our son with the middle school math that he had not been exposed to at school and advanced to a level that was much higher than expected. He even makes time to come if an additional need arises, however short the notice is. He is very patient and explains concepts in ways that a student can clearly understand. I highly recommend him to anyone who has a child that needs help in middle/high school math.
Brian is very knowledgeable in Accounting! He helped me so much, and taught me the information in a way that I understand. I am a grad student and recommend him for all your accounting tutor needs! He is Awesome! Thanks Brian!
Great tutor! Very patient and was able to explain the material in a way that someone who knows nothing about accounting would understand. Brian was flexible with my schedule meeting me on short notice. I would recommend him to anyone taking accounting.
This is one of the smartest persons that I have met. He has a memory that is unbelievable and is a great tutor! You cannot go wrong in selecting him.
He really has this passion on teaching others he will give you his way and if you don't understand he is patient and will get to my understanding of me of how I learn. I am so glad I found him here on this website. I PLAN to keep him as my tutor because this time I'm going to have my math brain thinking to learn or refresh my skill. thank you guys.
Brian was able to answer all of my questions in a timely manner. I will contact and use Brian again for additional accounting tutoring.
Good knowledge of the subject matter. Very straightforward teaching style. If I needed a tutor, I wouldn't hesitate to call him again.
Brian was patient as we walked through several items together. He was very accommodating and I appreciate his being able to meet with me with very little notice.
I tutored under Brian and was very excited to finally get some help with my accounting issues! He was very knowledgeable on the subject and offered alternative ways to reach the same answer to my problem. Anyway, I appreciate his help.
When I first set up an appointment with Brian I was making a 58 in my accounting class. With his help I was able to pull that grade up to an 86 for the semester. That's really all there is to say. He gets results. Call him.
Hannah said that she felt better about understanding the problems after working with Brian. He was able to meet with her on a short notice.
He was very cooperative with my needs. Great teacher. Was there on time and in no hurry to be gone.
Brian was very helpful in explaining income tax to me in a way that my professor was unable to. He was very patient and able to answer all of my questions. Brian was even able to answer some short specific questions through email after out tutoring session. If you are taking principles of income tax and need a tutor, I recommend Brian.
I enjoy working with Brian. His explanations are on target. When my books are confusing, he is able to simplify and make it understandable. Brian has become my weekly tutor and I would highly recommend him.
I found out about WyzAnt at the last minute. I needed a tutor for my son who was taking an accelerated Accounting class on-line and it was giving him the blues. We only had 3 days for him to get ready to take his final. Brian came out and helped my son that SAME NIGHT!! Brian also came back the next two days to help my son. I was very pleased with him, and his willingness to help us at the last minute. My son said that he was very helpful. Thank you Brian!
I booked two hours with Brian for my daughter, a college student at A&M, and after 45 min she asked if she could have an extra "3rd" hour, "because he is so smart and I am learning". Brian was patient and worked through the basic concepts with her until she understood. Brian's skills are described accurately on this site, although his photo is dated, and we would use him again.
Brian had days where he knew every single thing about college algebra and was very helpful but there were also concepts that he didn't understand. Sometimes he could look them up in the book and find them out and other times he couldn't figure them out. When he knew what he was doing then there was none better but then a day came when he didn't know the material, he took a very long time and seem to beat around the bush and tried to show me material that was not relevant to the lesson I was working on. Even after bombing a practice test with me and showing up 20 minutes late I learned not a single thing from him that day in yet he still had the nerve to take my money. If you're looking for a college algebra tutor I suggest you look elsewhere.
Matt was offered a refund and declined it. He seemed to have spent little time actually studying; he had questions on most of the problems on his written assignments. His course used ALEKS software. Equations that were easily graphed with a Texas Instruments graphing calculator presented problems in with the ALEKS graphing feature. I referred him to his professor.
Brian is always willing to work around my schedule. He is very prompt. He has helped me alot with accounting.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
