As a work-from-home mother of two, I can understand the frustrations that one experiences when you don't grasp the concept being covered. I am patient and work with the student to find the right "switch" for the individual that turns on the light of understanding.
My background in tutoring goes back to my days as a fourth grade elementary student. I was asked by the educators to assist the first and second grade students in their math studies. I have never forgotten the honor I felt at being handed such an important task as passing on knowledge to others. I have tutored in math across many grade levels including collegiate-level calculus. Although math has always been my passion, I have worked in business as an Executive Assistant for 18+ years. Through my work experience I have gained strength in numerous software applications. These strengths have been called upon to instruct others in the use of these programs. Prior to relocating due to my husband's employment, I was in my third year of studies in Aerospace Engineering. My time spent at Texas A&M taught me a lot about study skills which I like to pass on to my students.
I enjoy helping others find the joy in learning that I have. I can communicate well across different age levels and have daily practice as my children are four and seventeen. I feel I offer a different view on education since I have experienced the important role it plays in our lives. I also thank my mother, who as an educator, taught me how to listen as well as teach.
