I am Dr. Adrienne Brundage, a professional lecturer and teacher, specializing in biology, entomology, and forensics. I received my undergraduate degree in Plant Protection Sciences from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, went on to receive my Master's in Organismal Biology and Forensics from San Jose State University, and finished my Ph.D in Entomology at Texas A&M University two years ago. I have extensive experience teaching at TAMU and Blinn College locally, and have spent time teaching for the University of Florida, San Jose State, and Baylor. While I enjoy teaching large groups, I truly love teaching one-on-one, which is why I spend my spare time tutoring. I will do my best to assess your individual needs, and tailor a lesson plan that will help you better understand your subject for life. We will spend time not only discussing the subject at hand, but also working on study skills, class assignments, and ways to better prepare yourself for future courses. If you are currently taking any entomology, biology or forensics classes and need a little extra help on the side, I am here for you! I am free on evenings and weekends so you can make the most of your study time. Drop me a line and let's get learning!
My undergraduate degree was in Plant Protection Sciences, a specialized program involving the cultivation and protection of plants. These plants included crops, orchards, ornamentals, and native plants across all regions. I specifically investigated the biological control of insects, vertebrates, and disease on cropland and in orchards. This degree involved several years of botany, including advanced plant anatomy and physiology, plant pathology, and biocontrol. I have taught botany as part of most of my college level biology courses.
Microbiology instructor, San Jose State University, 2005-2008
As a lecturer at Blinn College, I wrote and taught the nutrition sciences course (BIOL 1322). My educational background in both organismal biology and entomology has given me plenty of coursework specifically about the nutrition various organisms, from humans to animals to plants and microorganisms. I have found that teaching from a global perspective allows students to understand the similarities and differences between the nutritional needs of all organisms.
My Ph.D is in entomology, an aspect of zoology. As I was preparing for my Ph.D and my Master's (in organismal biology), I had to take and teach many different zoology courses. I taught basic zoology at the undergraduate level for several years, and helped to develop a new lab manual for the course.
