Hello there! My name is Corey. I am an alumnus of Euless' Trinity High School and a rising senior in Computer Science with a focus in Gaming at Baylor University in Waco. With an SAT Score of 2150, I was a National Merit Commended scholar in my senior year of high school, and am more than capable of preparing you or your student to excel on the SAT, PSAT, or ACT standardized tests. I speak from experience when I say that high scores on these tests provide a massive boost to your college visibility, and dramatically increases your ability to be accepted to prestigious schools and earn generous scholarships. My specialty is in the reading and writing portions of these tests, though I am also capable of providing assistance in matters of math and science. Rest assured that studying with me will result in at least a 200 point boost to your SAT score - if not significantly more.

Furthermore, I am also something of an amateur saxophonist - I qualified for the Texas Region V All-Region band twice in my high-school career, and at one point ranked as high as fourth in the All-Area qualifying auditions. I am capable of playing Alto, Tenor, and Baritone saxophone and willing to help young musicians develop vital skills to their development, including but not limited to proper embouchure for both classical and jazz styles, basic improvisational skills, sight reading, and effective practice techniques.

I am also well qualified to assist your student in developing effective critical reading and analytical techniques that will both allow them to read and interpret highly complicated works of literature and to write and articulate themselves in a manner that is clear and rhetorically effective. With a nearly perfect score on the Writing portion of the SAT and multiple years in the Baylor Interdisciplinary Corps, an honors college focused on multicultural readings and a development of rhetorical writing skills, I have a keen understanding of how to both read and understand complex texts and to analyze and argue off of them in ways that are easily understood and form compelling arguments.

Finally, as a Computer Science major I have multiple years' experience working in Java and C++, and can assist your student in understanding the fundamentals of programming logic in both those languages, the basics of bitwise operations or assembly language, or more advanced concepts such as Linked Lists, other complex data structures, or algorithm development and analysis.

It is my hope that you come to me if you or your student find yourself in the DFW area and in any need of assistance in SAT prep, saxophone fundamentals, or basic-to-intermediate Computer Science. I'm happy to help, and guarantee measurable results from every session! Thank you for your time, and for your consideration!

ACT English

I received a perfect score on the English section of my ACT. I have also taken a number of writing-heavy courses during the course of my college career. In the Baylor Interdisciplinary Corps, Cultures I-IV, Social World I-II and Rhetoric I all required me to refine my ability to write in a way that is both easily understood and rhetorically effective.

ACT Math

I received a high score on the Math section of my ACT. My programming courses have also required me to study high-level math such as calculus and linear algebra. I am more than capable of explaining and teaching the logical and arithmetic principles behind the ACT math test.

ACT Reading

I received a perfect score on the English section of my ACT. I have also taken a number of writing-heavy courses during the course of my college career. In the Baylor Interdisciplinary Corps, Cultures I-IV, Social World I-II and Rhetoric I all required me to refine my ability to read, understand, and discuss material that uses a number of rhetorical strategies to convey information to the reader in a variety of ways.

I have been programming in C++ for approaching two-years now. I have experience working on my own and in groups, and a solid understanding of most common data structures and their implementations. I also have experience studying and implementing various advanced Algorithms to build Search Trees, solve Shortest Path problems, or other intermediate-level programming problems. I am fully capable of assisting with entry-level C++.

I have been playing the Saxophone for over eight years now, and I have amassed a large amount of experience playing in a variety of settings - these include small quartets and combos, classical ensembles, big band jazz ensembles, and marching bands. Furthermore, I have some teaching experience after spending some time as a section leader in charge of bringing along younger students and helping them learn music and develop their technique. I have studied from a great number of professional saxophonists and jazz musicians with credentials ranging from performance experience in the North Texas One O' Clock Lab Band to Professors of Saxophone at Baylor and Texas Christian Universities. I am more than capable of helping aspiring young saxophonists develop solid saxophone fundamentals, disciplined practice regimens, and a firm appreciation of the musical arts.

Social Studies

I am currently enrolled and have excelled in an honors college program with a focus on History, Culture, and Philosophy. I possess both a passion for and an extensive knowledge of American History, Western European History, Religion, and basic sociological theory. I am more than qualified to help with primary-to-intermediate level Social Studies courses.

I graduated in the top 15 percent of my high school class even while enrolled almost exclusively in advanced-placement courses. Every TAKS test I completed recieved a "Commendable" classification. With a college-level background in mathematics, rhetoric, science, and history, I am more than capable of assisting with TAKS-prep.
