Hello there!

I am a recent retired teacher with 28 years experience. I still love teaching, and want to change from a classroom setting to a more individual setting. I have worked with hearing impaired students my entire career, and can sign fluently. With working in the field of "Deaf Education" I have had the opportunity to hone my skills of working to each individual students needs. I not only have worked with students with hearing losses, I also have vast experience in elementary and middle school hearing students.
I have experience with teaching the core subjects in elementary and middle school. I also have experience with teaching "ESL/ESOL language to middle school through adult learners. I have worked with students with special needs such as ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, ambulatory, and non ambulatory. To put myself through college I worked at Denton State School for the Mentally Challenged.

I am a compassionate person, who believes ALL children can learn and excel to the expectations put upon them. I understand about Standardized testing, and can help students be successful on those type of tests. One quality that I have developed through all my years teaching is that I can explain a topic many different ways to better help the student grasp and internalize the information.

I love when a light bulb goes off and a student begins to understand a topic. When that happens I know that student is gaining something for life, and that makes all the hard work worthwhile.
