Hi,
I have been an educator for more than 30 years. I have a B.A. in Bilingual Education and an M.A. in Elementary Education. I lived for almost 38 years in Mexico, so I am completely fluent in the language.
I have worked in different private schools in the States and abroad. Throughout my career I have become familiar with cultures from around the world. I have learned that even though children come from distinct places and have different ways of thinking and learning, in the end they are all children. They all want to be loved and accepted for who they are. Everyone has special needs, be it physical or of the soul. However, there should always be someone there who cares and guides them.
I have received training in the International Baccalaureate PYP program since 2001. Becoming an IB teacher has helped me add more to my academic instruction. It has taught me how to guide my student's learning through an inquiry based method and at the same time instilling positive attitudes and values. In this way a child cares more about the world and the people around them.
If your child needs help in Language Arts, Social Studies, Math, short and long term special projects, help with their homework or Spanish at an elementary school level, I can help you. I look forward to starting a journey in which your child can grow in knowledge and self confidence.
Thank you,
Ms. Terry
