I have been teaching high school Spanish for 9 years. I moved to Texas from New York 5 years ago and I am currently teaching Spanish at a high school in the Austin area. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, a Master's degree in Secondary Education, and I am certified to teach secondary Spanish in both New York State and Texas. Before moving to Texas, I taught Spanish levels 2 and 3 at a high school in upstate New York for 3 years. During my senior year of college I had the opportunity to study for a semester in Seville, Spain, at La Universidad De Sevilla. I have also traveled and studied in Mexico on several occasions, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Colombia as well. Though I am not a native speaker of the language, I feel this gives me an advantage in teaching Spanish to non native speaking students because I myself had the same experience of learning Spanish as a second language. I can personally understand the struggles that students have and help to address them using the knowledge of my own experiences learning the language. I feel that I have a great rapport with my students and have had much positive feedback from both students and parents. Please contact me if you are interested. I look forward to working with you!
