I have a Master's degree in chemistry, and for the past several years have been teaching introductory chemistry labs at the University of Texas at Austin. I have taught and/or tutored students on a number of levels, from introductory basics to more advanced scientific concepts. Since many chemistry problems involve mathematical manipulations, I am also very experienced in explaining algebra. And thanks to extensive time spent in an office setting, I am also proficient in using the Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), especially Excel.
I provide the following reference from Dr. Brian Anderson, Ph.D., professor of chemistry at U.T.-Austin: "Chris Orf is an energetic and enthusiastic instructor who, while having a master's degree in chemistry, still remembers what it was like to be learning chemistry for the first time. He is knowledgeable and creative in his approach to demystifying the concepts that students struggle with most. I worked with Chris for three years at UT, and I recommend him wholeheartedly."
