I have a BS and MS in general biology, though you cannot achieve success in college without a firm foundation of reading comprehension, mathematics, and technical writing.
I have successfully developed and implemented curriculum for use in educational summer camps and outreach programs with the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania (grades K-8th), the Austin Nature and Science Center (grades K-8th), and Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch (ages 12-17). During graduate school, I was a teaching assistant (biology) for two semesters.
The success of my summer camps came from finding ways to present material in a manner to which the kids could relate. This translates to a teaching style that caters to the student's strengths, uses their passion as motivation, and inspires them to want to learn.
