I am a full-time writer and tutor. I am a former curriculum writer and my practice questions and study tips are used by children and adults everyday across the country. I use phonics curriculum based on Orton Gillingham methods to help struggling and early readers. It is a proven approach with great results.

I also specialize in all elementary STAAR tests preparation/retesting and middle school and high school Reading and English tests. I can take teaching and testing standards and create road maps to success for your child. I can bridge the gap between what your child knows and what he or she is expected to demonstrate. I will be patient and kind but also motivate your child to reach their highest potential using proven test-taking methods.

I also enjoy teaching young children how to read and write with confidence and enjoyment. I mold junior high and high school students into creative writers. I can use my experience to not only help your child improve in the area of reading, writing, literature, and social studies, but also help them enjoy learning.

I have a degree in writing and experience as a school tutor and substitute teacher. I also have more than a decade of experience in publishing. Most of all, I know how it feels to desire to bring out the best in a child. I understand that comprehension affects other areas, so I also assist young learners in building basic math skills.

I have successfully tutored readers and writers from preschool-age to adulthood. Proofreading is a passion of mine as well. Allow me to partner and pray with you to help you or your child on their journey to success.

History is the foundation for understanding how the world works. I have a degree in history and have taught high school history courses. I specialize in comprehension of historical facts, cause and effect, and interpretation. With my writing background, I can also help with history essays.

Understanding what we read is essential for success in every subject and every profession later in life. I start with basic comprehension techniques and build on them to help students interpret and draw conclusions from what they read. My goal for young readers is for every student to not only read with ease and confidence, but also enjoyment.
