Hi! My name is Colleen, and I have been tutoring off and on for around ten years. I majored in Spanish, went to Mexico for two years in between my sophomore and junior year, and then came back and was inducted into the Spanish honor society (known as the Sigma Delta Pi at my university) and started tutoring college students in Spanish while I finished my degree in Spanish. I later went back to live in Mexico for three more years.
With the experience that I had living in Mexico, and with my most recent experience as an ESL instructor at a local college, I understand the importance of learning another language. It can open us up to being a part of a whole new world and it brings me great joy to be a part of another person's process of learning another language.
I specialize in Spanish, ESL, and English grammar, and one of my goals during each session is to help students recall what they learned during the prior session by having a short review at the beginning of each new session. After all, language requires a lot of ability to recall information! :)
Recently I finished my Masters Degree program in linguistics, so I understand what it is like to be a student and to strive to achieve success. Because of that, it is my wish to help others achieve that success as well.
Best wishes as you search for a tutor. I hope to hear from you and would love to help you in your language learning endeavors!
