ADD/ADHD

Team member of Care Teams in Missouri to give guidance on managing students with academic and behavioral concerns in the classroom. I have attended many seminars and workshops involving instruction for children with ADD/ADHD.

Aspergers

I was an In-District Autism Consultant issued from State of Missouri Education Special Education division in 2003. I was a team member of Care Teams in Missouri to give guidance on managing students with academic and behavioral concerns in the classroom. I provided language instruction to students with Autism and Aspergers in the school setting.

ESL/ESOL

As a speech therapist, I have the skills to assist foreign students in learning the English language, both spoken and written. I am able to break down errors in spoken language and have the skills to teach the student how to correct the errors; similar to speech therapy. I have experience with adults and children.

Special Needs

I received In-District Autism Consultant training from State of Missouri Education Special Education division in 2003.

I have taught and tutored children with special needs during my career as a speech therapist. My responsibilities in an administrative role and on teams for special needs students included observations and detailed plans for their educational and behavioral needs. I have training in specific programs for special needs students.

Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
Lifetime Teaching Certificate in the area of k-12 Speech and Language from Missouri.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
