Hello and welcome. Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my qualifications.
Teaching: I am currently in my sixth year teaching social studies. I have experience teaching World History (AP and regular), U.S. History, Government, and World Geography (pre-AP and regular) at the middle and high school level. I really enjoy preparing students for the STAAR/EOC tests and AP World History Exam at the end of each school year. I help students become successful through games, graphic organizers, note taking skills, map reading skills, writing skills (open ended questions, DBQ, EOC, C&C, and research papers), and flash cards. My approach to tutoring is systematic and scaffolded to meet the needs of each individual student. When I tutor, the student and I design goals that map out where the student is currently and what they want to achieve in the future. Basically, what is their end product. I am very patient and dedicated to success.
Coaching: I played baseball from when I was 9 until 26. I finished my playing career in college at the D-I level. Soon after I finished playing I spent one year as a college student coach and when I gradated I started coaching at the high school level. I was a catcher in little league, high school and college. Baseball is my passion in life. I enjoy watching players grow from year to year. I teach players how to think critically and analyze their play and the game so they can develop into the player they desire. I have coached players in all 9 defensive positions. Pitching: I teach players the proper mechanics, hitting spots, and changing speeds. Catching: I teach players the proper mechanics of blocking, calling a game, taking charge, framing, and lowering their pop time (home to second). Offesive: I teach hitting the ball where it is pitched, bunting, and base running.
