Robert’s qualifications in specific subjects below.
ACT Math
I did well on my ACT exam in high school in most of the subjects. Along with that, I have gotten fairly good at learning and explaining techniques for taking exams in college which I feel to be far more important in exams like this. This is the subject that I am the most knowledgeable as compared to the other sections.
Algebra 1
I am highly knowledgeable in most subjects pertaining to math because I have used them at some point in my engineering studies.
Algebra 2
I am highly knowledgeable in most subjects pertaining to math because I have used them at some point in my engineering studies. I use this extensively when trying optimize a structural system and make a design decision based on one or more factors.
Calculus
I am highly knowledgeable in most subjects pertaining to math because I have used them at some point in my engineering studies. I used calculus extensively when learning the theoretical concepts behind engineering. Now, I don't use on a day to day basis in my studies as much, but when learning any new material I always refer back to my knowledge of calculus.
Cello
I have played the Cello since I was in the 1st grade. I took lessons from 1st grade to 12th grade and I am knowledgeable on basic to intermediate techniques. Along with that, I know the basics of music theory and characteristics of most of the classical music periods.
Chemistry
I also learned a lot about chemistry in my high school and college course work. Along with that, my engineering degree has kept my problem solving skills sharp which is the essential part of the calculation focused courses like chemistry.
Civil Engineering
I have a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and I am half way finished with Master of Engineering Degree in Structural Engineering at University of Texas at Arlington. I am also knowledgeable on most of the basic subjects that pertain to structures in other fields of engineering as well since they over lap with my coursework. Right now, I am currently taking a break from coursework to save up some money but I plan on finishing in the fall if possible.
General Music
I have played the Cello since I was in the 1st grade. I took private lessons from 1st grade to 12th grade and I am knowledgeable on basic to intermediate techniques. Along with that, I know the basics of music theory and characteristics of most of the classical music periods. In learning these topics, I had only one lesson a week and I had to exercise a lot of autonomy in the learning process. I can pass this knowledge and these skills to any student.
Geometry
I am highly knowledgeable in most subjects pertaining to math because I have used them at some point in my engineering studies. I am knowledgeable in this field of math because shapes and their corresponding volume and/or surface area are critical to self weight considerations in the design process.
Martial Arts
I have done some form of martial arts since I was 10. I started doing shotokan karate and did that with a class until a couple years ago and in doing so earned a 1st degree black belt. Now I just keep up with the kata and train with various martial arts clubs to work on my sparring. I have now started to focus on my Judo for the last couple of years and have a green belt in that. I also work a little boxing on my own, but I wouldn't consider that a true expertise of mine.
Physics
I also learned a lot about physics in my high school and college course work. Along with that, my engineering degree has kept my problem solving skills sharp which is the essential part of the calculation focused courses like physics.
Prealgebra
I am highly knowledgeable in most subjects pertaining to math because I have used them at some point in my engineering studies.
Precalculus
I am highly knowledgeable in most subjects pertaining to math because I have used them at some point in my engineering studies. Precalculus is probably the math knowledge that i use the most in my engineering coursework and as I result I am very knowledgeable in this area.
SAT Math
I did well on my SAT exam in high school in most of the subjects. Along with that, I have gotten fairly good at learning and explaining techniques for taking exams in college which I feel to be far more important in exams like this.
Trigonometry
I am highly knowledgeable in most subjects pertaining to math because I have used them at some point in my engineering studies. I have a fairly extensive knowledge in the relation of angles and shapes because that is a key element of figuring out the individual elements of a load on a structure from a general set of loading standards.
