Greetings Parents and Students,

I am Ms. Michelle and I am bringing to your attention my interest in filling your child's tutoring needs.

I am very well prepared to ensure the success of your child's needs due to what I feel are the qualifications and education that you are looking for to fill the position. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Administration of Justice with a minor in Business Administration. I also hold a Master's Degree in Educational Curriculum and Instruction. I currently hold teaching certifications for Special Education EC- 12 and General Education English and Reading 4- 12.

I am currently in my 6th year serving as a English Department Chair at a selective school. I also serve as an Reading and English I Teacher. My previous experiences are serving as a resource teacher for 10-12th grades at Desoto High School. Other experiences include 7th and 8th ELA, specifically, reading at Cullen Middle School in Houston, TX where we had a TAKS Reading passing rate of over 94%. I also taught 6th grade resource reading and English at Cullen Middle School with a TAKS reading passing rate of 90%.

I work extremely hard to implement technology into my teaching.

I remain informed about progress or lack of progress in initiative-related areas such as student persistence, developmental education outcomes, achievement gaps, and completion rates. Furthermore, in my short time at Desoto High School, I was elected as Teacher of the Year. Also, I was nominated for the Texas EXES Awards for Most Outstanding Teacher 2011. As well as I was elected as a Fulbright Scholar the summer of 2012.

I appreciate the time and opportunity you have given me to briefly discuss my abilities, you, the needs of the student, and how I believe I could be beneficial.

I am available for tutoring on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6 until 8. Other times may possibly be arranged for availability.

Thank you.
