Hi, my name is Darnelle J. I am 31 years of age and married with a daughter who will soon turn 3 and already knows the alphabet and sounds of each letter, numbers up to 20, letters up to 10 in Spanish, colors, and shapes. I currently work for Fort Bend ISD and I have worked in Alvin ISD for almost 2 years. I also worked for an after school program called 21st Century and assisted students with completing homework assignments and studying for quizzes and tests. In 2009 I ran a small day care in Kenosha, WI, working with infants up to children who were 12 years of age. I have tutored since I was a senior in high school and I started with Elementary age students but my experience with children doesn’t stop there. I began working in education, as an Instructional Assistant in Orlando, FL, back in 2004. Since then I have attempted to change professions many times and have been unsuccessful. Working with children, educating them is simply what I was born to do. I also work with Foreign Exchange high school students, placing them in high schools and homes across the Houston and San Antonio area. As an Educator, I am constantly researching different ways to better assist all types of learners. I completed my K-12 Special Education training with an Alternative Teaching Certification program and I am just preparing to take my exam in the hopes that I will be able to secure a job shortly after. I treat my students like my own, keeping in mind the kind of teacher I want my daughter to have when she begins school: caring, understanding, organized, knowledgeable, creative, proactive, consistent, and persistent. I pride myself in the fact that I have attained these qualities and many more. Give me the chance to tutor your child and even yourself, if necessary, you will be happy you did.
With Warm Regards,
Darnelle
