I am an Aerospace Engineer by trade who eventually decided to become a teacher. I taught advanced placement math to middle school children.
Math can be tough. I know it was for me. I struggled through it and came to love it. What makes it, for us normal folks, so hard? Math is a language. It is the language of physics, how everything in the universe works. For most, learning a new language is the hardest thing we've ever done. But, with numbers and all kinds of weird symbols? Your kidding, right?
I have found that to learn this weird new language called math I shouldn't think of it as problems to be solved, but more as puzzles to be enjoyed. Puzzles have clues that lead to a solution. So does mathematics. When I learned the rules of the puzzle and how to spot the clues, math became fun.
I would be honored to assist you or your child to learn how to spot those clues and solve the puzzle.
