If you’re looking for someone to help you become a better writer or maybe just someone to proofread your papers and offer constructive feedback I can help. As an English major, I have experience drafting papers, doing revisions as well as working with others to help them understand the writing process. Through my undergraduate studies at The University of Chicago and now into my Masters program in Journalism at Boston University, I have committed to writing as a career.
While in undergrad, I worked with high school juniors and seniors on their college application essays through a program offered at my university. After graduation I tutored colleagues still in undergrad by reading their papers and offering feedback on how to make their papers better.
For three years I worked in the Boston Public School system as a writing tutor helping all ages of high school students with projects ranging simple five paragraph essays to multimedia presentations. I also worked with ESL students helping them write papers and understand the nuances of the English language. After that, I worked at Northeastern University as a Writing Consultant helping college freshmen adjust to the rigors of college-level writing.
My teaching style is flexible. I adapt to the needs of the person I am tutoring so that they can get the most out the time we have together. I create a relaxed environment in which the most work can be done and a student feels comfortable to ask questions and participate in the learning process.
