15 years tutoring Math & ACT Prep for Sylvan Learning Centers

I have worked for the past 15 years at Sylvan Learning Centers, tutoring students of all ages in elementary and high school math, ACT prep, reading, study skills, and writing. I have also taught private piano lessons to nearly 200 students over the past 40 years. Graduating from college with a BS degree in Home Economics Education, I returned to school in 1993 to receive a secondary math teaching certification. My professional experience also includes teaching Intermediate School math and science at private schools in Hawaii.

Piano

I began my own piano lessons at age seven, and began teaching piano while in high school. I received college credit for private piano lessons (Boise State University, Idaho) during my senior year in high school, plus one semester at BYU. I taught over 100 students of all ages during our 16-year residency in Hawaii, and was a member of the National and State Piano Teachers Guilds. I have continued teaching students on a more limited basis over the past ten years while residing in Louisiana.
