I am a professional teacher and tutor with a BA in philosophy and a concentration in premed. (I have also done some graduate coursework in English Literature.)
My tutoring experience comes from working at MTSU in the department of Disabled Student Services, where I focused on several subjects and worked with students presenting a wide range of needs. I now work at a private high school in Nashville, teaching chemistry, physics, and English. I have experience guiding college-level coursework and K-12, and I really enjoy the chance to work with students of all age groups and academic backgrounds--from kindergarten language and math to PhD dissertation writing.
I have a lot of academic interests and have learned that tackling new material can be intimidating. In my own way, I've learned to make this process exciting, and I try to pass that enthusiasm along to the student as we work to unravel the course content. Wherever possible, I make it my goal to "disarm" the subject in a way that allows the material to become more approachable--and could we say, even, fun?
