Mathematics, Spanish, Writing and World History Tutor

With a BS degree in electrical engineering, I am qualified to tutor in most areas of mathematics, as well as in writing, world history, Spanish and vocabulary. In math we can start at the most basic level or at an intermediate level. As mathematics is the basis for engineering, I can also demonstrate how various math concepts are applied to engineering. I enjoy using a combination of graphs, tutorials and computation to reinforce the range of mathematical subjects.

Please note that I can also provide instruction for ACT, PSAT and SAT math sections, and the summer is probably the best time to get started in these areas. My extensive experience of working in foreign countries has resulted in an exceptional sensitivity to students who have also lived abroad.

Algebra 2

I audited a pre-calculus course at a 4-year university last semester (fall, 2012). With my engineering degree, which included 2 years of calculus, imaginary numbers, and advanced geometry, I feel very qualified to tutor at the algebra 2 level.

Geometry

I received straight A's in high school geometry, and I enjoyed that course tremendously. Understanding geometry has helped me in my work as an engineer, and is also important to the understanding of many other principles in math and science courses.

Spanish

I have worked for 2 years in Mexico and for 1 year in Equatorial Guinea (a former Spanish colony in Central Africa). I'm sure that I can improve your son's speaking, writing and reading ability in Spanish.

Soccer

I played soccer in high school, college and in amateur leagues in the suburban NY City area. Most of my playing experience consisted of striker positions, with less experience as a halfback. I can instruct in offensive and defensive strategies, free kicks, corner kicks and penalty kicks.

Linear Algebra

With a BS degree in electrical engineering, I am qualified to tutor in most areas of mathematics. I have many years of using and instructing in linear algebra, which is widely used in scientific, engineering and excel applications.

Electrical Engineering

I have over 25 years of work experience as an electrical engineer. I have designed a variety of components and systems, mostly as they apply to security and electrical power systems. Concerning power systems, my experience ranges from low-voltage (less than 24 volts) AC and DC systems to AC medium voltage, 120/220/240/380-volt, 50 and 60 HZ generators and distribution systems.
