My goal as a tutor is to do more than improve on a single topic but rather teach the student better methods and study habits so they can succeed in every subject throughout their academic career. Every student learns differently; therefore, I focus on both strengths and weaknesses to improve study habits, problem solving and organization. I believe in working toward an end result where the student no longer needs my help because we have established the academic tools they need to succeed on their own.
Currently I attend the University of Tennessee as an undergraduate student majoring in ACS Chemistry and minoring in Mathematics. Previously I was in attendance at the U.S. Naval Academy working towards a Bachelor of Science in English. I have taken extensive mathematics, English, and science courses along with training in learning skills and practical problem solving. Previously I acted as a tutor for fellow students at the Naval Academy and Pellissippi State. My extracurricular activities include numerous debate teams, academic bowl teams, participation in Model United Nations and society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. I've received numerous awards in math, English, physics, and public speaking. I love to read, paint, swim and backpack when I have free time because I believe that it is the well-rounded individual who has the best chance at success.
