My name is Brigham S. and I am excited at the prospect of aiding anyone who might need tutoring in the area of science. I have a Bachelor's degree (Lambuth University - major: Biology), and Masters Degree (The University of Memphis - major: Molecular Biology and Biochemistry) and completed medical school in Kentucky (Pikeville University School of Osteopathic Medicine). After medical school, I completed my surgical internship and several years of surgical residency at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Arkansas Children's Hospital and The Veterans Affairs Hospital in Little Rock Arkansas. Needless to say I have years of experience as a student. Having applied, been accepted, and completed a professional medical degree I also have experience in the ins and outs of medical professionals and the overall knowledge needed to excel in the field, not only for future medical professionals but for anyone interested in a science related field.
I left surgical medicine recently to pursue a career in education which has always been my dream. I currently serve as an adjunct faculty member at Jackson State Community College and am a professor of Anatomy & Physiology as well as General Biology. As a physician and professor I have educated students from all walks of life, young and old, traditional and non-traditional. I have educated students from the classroom to the operating room. I consider it an honor to share my experience and knowledge with students and future professionals. My teaching techniques are innovative and resourceful. I consider myself energetic and passionate about teaching biology and science. If you are hard working and need a way to increase the quality of studying and learning without increasing the quantity of hours studying I may be able to help. There are many learning styles and the area of science includes a massive amount of material that can be difficult to digest. If you are looking for someone who has been there, learned how, done that, and now wants to pass it on then please contact me about tutoring. I prefer face to face contact and am more than willing to tutor groups. I am willing to travel so please don't hesitate to contact me.
