I am a young, eager tutor that graduated in the spring of 2011 from the prestigious Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. I excelled in my studies there, graduating cum laude with a 3.7 overall GPA, a 3.9 major GPA, and having completed honors research. During my time at Rhodes I tutored in math and English at Memphis Refugee Services for 5 months. This is in addition to tutoring at a local center within my religious community in math and English during my entire 4 years at Rhodes.
After graduating, I worked as a Research Assistant at the prestigious American Institutes of Research in Washington D.C for one year from 2011 to 2012. The research area I focused on primarily dealt with education.
The sum of my experiences informs my ability and skill as a tutor that is easy to get along with and can convey complex ideas to students by developing an understanding for their skills and how best to facilitate their comprehension of the material they may have some trouble with.
Though I can tutor in reading, writing, ESL, and SAT prep, I specialize in tutoring Arabic. I can teach Arabic at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. I studied Arabic overseas in Egypt, Jordan*, and Lebanon over the course of 2 years, in addition to my 2 years in the states studying the language in great detail. I am also beginning my master's in Arabic Studies starting in the fall of 2014.
*I received particular recognition by the Qasid program located in Jordan, having been interviewed and featured on their home page.
