I am a college student in Cookeville, TN. I have a lot of experience working with children, including those with special needs. I believe I am very easy to work with and can explain many subjects in ways that children can understand. My best subjects are Spanish, reading, and any elementary subjects. Elementary (K-6th)

I have two younger brothers who are both in elementary school. Helping them with homework and projects for school has helped me gain a better understanding of what they are learning. I also volunteered in local elementary schools for three years.

Phonics

As a child, I learned how to read based on letter sounds. When it came time for my brothers to learn to read, I helped them learn using phonics.

Soccer

Having played soccer for six years, I have a lot of experience in this area.

ESL/ESOL

In high school and college, I have made many friends from foreign countries. I have helped them with their English skills and have learned to be very patient with English-learners. I understand that English can be very difficult. Also, while in high school, I spent 5 hours a week tutoring ESL students.

ADD/ADHD

My younger brother has ADHD. Throughout the years, I have learned many strategies that have helped me become more patient and understanding of children with ADHD/ADD.
