I have been teaching mostly first and second year Spanish language at university level for over 10 years. I love to travel and learned much of my Spanish in Costa Rica where I worked with a weekly newspaper for my undergraduate internship. I have been to Costa Rica, Honduras, Brazil, Panama, Nicaragua, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Spain and Mexico and several other non-Spanish speaking countries.
When I began to learn Spanish it was very exciting for me when I was speaking with a native Spanish speaker to actually a. understand what they were saying and b. be understood when I was speaking.
I first of all want to find out what your goal is for tutoring and we will discuss what method will work for you individually. I usually find out what you have an interest in topic/ hobby-wise and try to tie those in. I enjoy using reading material from news articles to children's books.
I also do mostly nature and culture photography in my spare time as well as writing. During my undergraduate schooling I took all the photography classes, was photographer for the yearbook for a semester and the newspaper for two two years. While there I took several photography camping trips with instruction from talented photographers.
