Hello! My name is Stacey, and I have recently moved to the Memphis area. For the past seven years I have taught 5th grade as a special education teacher in a desired school district. My district was a pioneer in technology and diving into the Common Core State Standards. The district trained me well and I left with valuable skill, knowledge, and resources. Although a special education teacher, I co-taught math, science, social studies, and reading/language arts with a regular education teacher. The students in the classroom saw me as an equal teacher and didn't realize I was actually a special education teacher. This was due to the fact that I shared the teaching responsibilities in the classroom. Outside of the regular education classroom I taught intervention classes in both reading and math. As a special education teacher I have had ample training on meeting the academic, social, and behavioral needs of diverse learners. I can take one concept and teach it in several ways to reach the learning style of any student. I am anxious to get started! :)
I am a licensed special education teacher, with 8 years of experience working with students with all types of needs. I understand students with ADHD/ADD need to be taught in small fragments of time in order to hold their attention. Additionally, they need hands on or visual aids to help maintain focus.
I am a licensed special education teacher, with 8 years of experience working with students will all types of needs. I have worked closely with speech therapists and occupational therapists to meet the needs of students with autism in my classroom. I believe that students with Aspergers have tons of knowledge. They just need assistance learning how to access the information and how to respond in appropriate ways.
I am a licensed special education teacher, with 8 years of experience working with students will all types of needs. My district believed in full inclusion so I taught 50-50 with a regular education teacher in several 5th grade classrooms. I am confident in the Common Core State Standards at the elementary level. I have tutored regular education students in reading and math.
I hold a Master of Education Degree-Cross Categorical Special Education. I am certified K-12. Although most of my experience has been at the elementary level, I am willing to work with students in all grades. My education has made me an expert at reaching the learning style of all students.
