I have over fifteen years of ESL experience both overseas and here in the U.S. I have worked with both adults and children. The most memorable experience for me was when a recent high school graduate called me and said thank you for teaching them both, English and Spanish, for a number of years. "Thanks to you I will be going to Spain on a scholarship to get my university degree." That was the moment that I knew I had done my best. I remember that with that particular student we had began the lessons in kindergarten. These lessons started first as a form of play. As the years went by, the lessons became more complicated because the student was placed in situations where she would need to use one of the target languages. We went to different sites where there were native speakers until the student was able to hold an entire conversation with a native speaker. I would be happy to provide the same level of commitment and assistance to future students.
