My name is Carol, and I may be the ideal tutor for you!
I have been teaching high school English and Journalism for seven years. I graduated from Winthrop University in 2005 and earned my Master's in Education in 2007. I have tutored Math and Writing at York Technical College.
In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student, and concrete experiences in addition to worksheets. However, my specific methods vary according to the subject being taught and the learning style of the student.
Because tutoring is expensive, my approach is to find and correct the issue that is impeding learning as quickly as possible so that the student can return to the classroom confident in English and writing abilities.
