Dr. Arthur F. was an Assoc. Prof. at Clemson from 1995 to 2000. He had standing room only classes in statistics and any math or management related subject. Arthur makes learning easy and tons of fun. Algebra 1

Algebra 2

Grammar

I had the good fortune to be taught grammar in 7th and 8th grade by a very strict teacher. I never forgot those lessons. Grammar requires memorization of some basic rules and then easy implementation of them. I love to write and make English 'come alive' for my students.

Statistics

I have a Ph.D. with a focus on applied statistics. I teach the simplest and easiest way to understand statistics. I break statistics down to the very basic concepts and make it all very easy to understand. All statistics derives from 3 basic formulas. I want students to understand which applies when and how to do the work. My college students all got As and Bs. You will do well and be amazed how easy the subject is.

SAT Math

I scored a 700 in SAT Math under the original scoring system. I can help any high school student perform well on the Math or Verbal sections. I view the SAT as a game meant to challenge the student and try to convey a lighthearted game mentality. I teach the basic information needed to do well, including Algebra, Logic and Geometry. Performance will be greatly increased on the entire test after our fun sessions.

Finance

I have a Ph.D. in management science and was the associate fund manager of two major mutual funds. I was the CEO of a private bank and have traded stocks and commodities all my adult life. I make the subject easy to understand and go straight to the important material. I have tutored several college students in this area with great success.

LSAT

I performed extremely well on the LSAT and practiced law for 30 years. I view the test as a game and encourage every student to do the same. I cover the math, reading, law and logic/problem solving sections. The last is the most difficult and I spend time demonstrating easy methods to solve the complex logic puzzles. I also address scoring maximization methods.

Law

I received a J.D. from Rutgers Law and am admitted to the NJ and CT bars. I practiced law for 35 years and taught business law and management and contracts at Clemson, Sacred Heart and Rutgers. I specialized in real estate, divorce, tort and constitutional law. I can help any student prepare for any law course or the bar exam.

SAT Writing

I scored a 670 in SAT Verbal under the original scoring system. I can help any high school student perform well on the English or Writing sections. I wrote several books and articles for leading journals. I view the SAT as a game meant to challenge the student and try to convey a lighthearted game mentality. Probability

My Ph.D. is in applied statistics and management. Probability is easy to understand when approached from a hands on, real world viewpoint. Any student can understand the simple concepts involved. I explain the material in a very straightforward, application based manner drawing on the student's background and hobbies. I try to make the subject matter come alive and be fun.

Piano

I studied piano from age 4 to age 17 under Frederick Bried, who also taught Peter Nero and several other famous pianists. I was ranked 3rd in his studio of 100. I taught piano from age 18 to age 26. I specialize in Mozart. I conduct the Greenville Pops Orchestra, Inc. and compose music for symphony and various instruments.

Soccer

I played soccer on the semi-pro level in CT from 1978 to 1995 as a right wing. I was a FIFA referee from 1993 to 2004, rising to the top levels. I refereed high school, college, semi-pro and international games.

Business

I have a Ph.D. in management science. I taught business, operations research and management at Clemson. I ran a $40 Mil. bank. I was director of a mutual fund for Fidelity and owned and operated several small businesses. I am fluent in Quickbooks.

QuickBooks

I have used Quickbooks for 12 years. I am fully familiar with all aspects of this software, including p&l statements, balance sheets, employee matters, general journal, and accounts receivable. I ran a large company using Quickbooks and also 2 charities. I make this simple and easy.

Public Speaking

I received highest ranking from National Forensics League in 1970. I also won Student Congress Awards; NJ Statewide Debate competition; and several competitions in poetry, humor, drama and extemporaneous speech while at Morris Hills H.S. I also received an A+ in Public Speaking at Rutgers College. Finally, I am an experienced trial attorney and public speaker.

Bar Exam

I was admitted to the Bar of NJ in 1977 and CT in 1978. I passed both bar exams on first attempt.
