I am currently a senior at Bob Jones University, finishing my degree in piano. During my time here, I have greatly enjoyed my piano studies, as well as my cello studies on the side. Because BJU is a liberal arts school, I have also been able to expand my knowledge in many areas, including but not limited to computers, studying skills, and other music studies (theory, composition, sight singing, etc). I also have a love for cooking. I took a class in high school that was beneficial and even though I'm living in the dorms, it is fun to make time for culinary delights.

Music Theory

I have tutored music theory for four years (college-level to friends and friends of friends). I began learning music theory in 2000 when I started piano lessons. It is a great tool for any music student to learn theory in depth.

Music History

I have had four college-level courses in music history. The textbook is a wonderful resource and would be my main tool in tutoring in this area, as well as the student's textbook.

I am also knowledgeable in the area of hymnology and can tutor a student in that as well.

Piano

I have been taking piano lessons since 2000 and love every part of piano playing and teaching! I began teaching in high school (2007) and continued with a few students during college. My major is in this area and although the main focus is in church music, I did take extra classes in piano pedagogy (learning how to teach).
