I have a degree in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University in Chicago. I have 6 years of classroom teaching experience and 4 years of tutoring experience. My specialties are Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Science, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, preCalc, Calculus and Statistics.
Recent students I have tutored include an algebra student from Hillsborough Community College in Plant City, two organic chemistry students at Florida Southern, a Physics student from Polk State and an ASVAB student from George Jenkins High School.
Often when a new student comes to me, they are overwhelmed and discouraged by the subject matter. With one on one tutoring I am able to taper the lessons to their learning style, which usually results in rapid progress. I find it very rewarding to watch my students discouragement turn into confidence as they master their subjects.
Personally, I have three children who were all Honors and AP students in high school. All three were given academic scholarships to college, and my youngest has a full tuition academic scholarship at Clemson University. My children have all kept their scholarships by maintaining their grades throughout their college careers. I firmly believe that setting high expectations leads to success.
My classroom experience was at Mauldin High School, Mt Zion Christian School, and Centrepointe Christian School. I have tutored in Greenville County, SC as well as Rochester, NY and Lakeland, Florida.
I have tutored students from 3rd grade through college level, and worked with students from local community colleges and universities as well as local high schools and middle schools. I also tutor home schooled students and students taking online classes. If you would like references from any of many current or past students I would be happy to provide them for you. Contact me and I can help get you or your student on the road to success!
