We contacted Dr. C. as a possible tutor after carefully reviewing all the profiles on WyzAnt and other tutoring-based websites. In addition to his significant academic qualifications, he had a breadth and depth of real-world work experiences. Our only concern was that, given his qualifications, he might teach at a level too difficult to understand. We're happy to say that we were completely wrong on that account. Dr. C is a gifted teacher; he is patient and finds ways to explain the real world applications of the lesson. He does not spoon-feed; he helps the student learn how to understand the principals so the student can apply them independently in the future. Every lesson was followed by an summary sent to us that explained exactly what he worked on with our child. It also included what he would address for the next lesson. He was flexible, basing the lesson's parameters on what our child's particular situation was that week. He measured our child's initial knowledge and progress as the sessions continued. As parents, we always knew what the plan was and how it was being executed. Dr. C was also very accessible and willing to answer our questions and address our concerns. Our child went to the initial tutoring session reluctantly, but after the first session, saw the value and asked to return. The subject matter is too difficult for us to teach our child, but Dr. C explains it in a way that our child "gets." Our child is now making an "A" in the course for which we sought Dr. C's help. In short, we can't say enough positive things about our experience with Dr. C!
