I have taught high school level math for ten years. I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry to classes on the remedial, College Prep, and Honors levels. A great deal of my experience is with low achieving students, so I know how to break it into smaller, more manageable chunks of information.

I love working one-on-one with students because it gives me the opportunity to really help them understand. We will work problems together until I feel the student is confident enough to try some on their own. We will then talk about their mistakes and how to fix them. We will continually go back to previous topics to ensure mastery has been made and not forgotten.

The reason I love teaching is to see struggling students have their "light bulb" moments, so that they can understand the math, but also earn the grades they desire.

Transformed my daughter from struggling to excelling! — Rachel is the best tutor. My daughter has struggled with math for years. It was hard for her father and I to tutor her ourselves. We decided to invest in private tutoring this summer. That was the best decision we ever made. Our daughter visits her grandparents in Charleston every summer so it had to be someone responsible who could come to her. Rachel was very flexible with their schedule and vac ...
