I have always enjoyed helping others with math ever since I was in sixth grade. My classmates always did better than I did after I explained how to do a problem.
It wasn't until the last five years of my professional career that I became a professional tutor in a small college in upstate New York. I loved every minute of tutoring I did there. As in all the colleges, there students with varied abilities that came for help; some very bright, some average, and some with learning disabilities. I was able to quickly determine the learning style of each student (visual, auditory, tactile) and would use that knowledge to optimize the learning process.
I have a lot of patience and am calm so students quickly feel at ease with me. Add that to my extensive background and you have a winning combination.
