I am an experienced and professional tutor who specializes in helping students tackle difficult subjects. I help students of all ages learn how to break down complex ideas and problems into digestible parts so as to conquer them and meet their educational goals. I love seeing the satisfaction on the face of a student the moment when things suddenly click and he or she begins to do what was hitherto impossible.

I am happily married with three wonderful sons. I love teaching children and have extensive experience working with kids of all ages. I also teach adult continuing education and am an adjunct instructor at the Atlanta Bible College. Religion

As an ordained pastor and the graduate of two religion programs (Bachelor of Theology, Master of Theological Studies), I am qualified to tutor religious studies, especially Christianity.

Bible Studies

I have a bachelor's in theology from the Atlanta Bible College where I developed an in-depth knowledge of the Christian scriptures. I am able to read the New Testament in its original koine Greek.

Greek

I took two semesters of koine Greek at the Atlanta Bible College and two more at Boston University before learning classical Greek (three semesters at Harvard University). I use software to aid in memory retention and expansion along with reading to maintain and improve my grasp of ancient Greek.

C++

Having taken Computer Science 1-3 followed by Data Structures and Algorithms, I have extensive training and experience with C and C++. I have a bachelor of computer engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Archaeology

I studied archaeology at Boston University as part of my focus in early Christian history. My specialty is Greco-Roman archaeology within the Mediterranean basin. I was awarded funding to travel to and study the archaeology of eight ancient cities in western Turkey (including Ephesus and Smyrna). I also studied ancient epigraphy (reading Greek and Latin inscriptions). As a result I am able to tutor students working on ancient archaeology during the Roman Empire.

I am an expert user for Windows 3.1, 95, 98, XP, 2000, Vista, and 7. Beyond regular use I was trained in Computer Architecture and Operating Systems at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (from which I received a bachelor of science in computer engineering).

PHP

PHP is an excellent programming language for extremely fast website development. I have put in hundreds of hours programming and managing websites in PHP as well as integrating them with MySQL. I am currently employed (part time) as a website administrator.

Electrical Engineering

During my time at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) I studied the following areas of electrical engineering: embedded control, circuit theory, engineering electronics, digital electronics, amplitude modulation, and sundry hardware-related courses. I graduated from RPI summa cum laude with a bachelor in science (computer engineering). My experience in designing hardware equips me to tutor electrical engineering.

Computer Engineering

I attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and majored in computer engineering (summa cum laude). My concentration was hardware design and my final project was to make a CPU using field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

Classics

I am enthralled by the classics. From ancient Greece to the Roman empire, studying these great civilizations ameliorates us today from what I call chronological snobbery--the notion that all who have lived before us were somehow primitive.
