Hello students and parents,

I value teaching and welcome any opportunity to do so. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from Clark University in Worcester, MA; November 2006. I completed the Computer Animation certificate program at Rhode Island School of Design; June 2008.

I initially taught Adobe Flash animation and arts/crafts at the Boys and Girls Club of Woonsocket, RI. I then mentored a couple of High School students in web design. Soon after I instructed adults in stop-motion animation at the Artists Exchange in Cranston, RI. More recently I assisted teachers at Bright Horizons Family Solutions in Providence RI as a Teacher Aide. I hope I have been thorough enough and given you a satisfactory description of myself as a tutor.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

Thank you.

Daniel S.

I have an attention deficit myself, so I know that an engaging learning method and occasional break or work on something else can make all the difference. As for hyperactivity, the method is much the same, except more so. I would be best at teaching English and Art to ADHD individuals.

Adobe Flash

I have been using Adobe Flash for 4 years now.

Adobe InDesign

I have been using Adobe Indesign for three years. I have used it primarily to create books.

Adobe Photoshop

I have been using Adobe photoshop for about ten years now.

I promise a well-rounded tutoring in the language arts. I will instruct any given student in how to use English effectively, both written and spoken.

I can use HTML and understand that it is another language that describes the visual representation of the internet. I can teach this to a variety of age groups.

I have worked with Apple/Macintosh almost my entire life. Apple's is the best operating system with which to use the Adobe Creative Suite, so I must use Macs.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is quite useful and is such common software that anyone who can't use it is definitely at a disadvantage. I offer my assistance.

Proofreading is essential. A computer's spell-check can only do so much, and then there's grammar. Sentence structure can be a pain as well. Let me help.

I feel that reading should be enjoyed, that the written word is truly magic. I would start with reading that concerns a subject which interests my student. My goal is always to help someone appreciate a skill.

SAT Reading

I can write well, and that writing is always informed and improved by reading.

I am happy to teach others how to gain a good reader's eye for correct and elegant expression.

SAT Writing

I have been writing for some time, and even have my own blog to display such work.
I would be more than happy to teach another person.

People need extensive spelling ability to be taken seriously. I would like to help anyone who needs help with any difficulty in this area.

The more words you know, the better you can express ideas. Let me help you expand your vocabulary.

Writing can be fun. The more one writes, the more one can write. I would hope that when I am finished teaching someone how to write, they will never need another teacher again.
