I have been in the field of education for 20 years. In my work as a librarian, teacher and tutor, I strive for connections with my students that will enable them to be productive in their work. I thoroughly enjoy helping students of all ages. I like to think that I give them that extra spark that is already there to help them understand and feel comfortable in their abilities. I have been tutoring college students in the past 2 years in the areas of writing(editing, outlining, proofreading, brainstorming ideas) literature analysis, forming good study skills, public speaking, reading for comprehension, and other literary arts. As an librarian in elementary and secondary schools, I have taught and tutored students in reading, project based assignments, history, and forming good study skills.
I approach all my tutoring sessions with much energy, enthusiasm and an ability to meet my student on any academic level. I have had much experience in working with students who have learning challenges and are on an IEP. I have serviced students with dyslexia, spectrum autism, ADHD, and anxiety. I have had much experience communicating with parents as this has been part of my professional experiences. I look forward to meeting with my students and allowing them to shine.
