Hello prospective tutees!
My name is Amy! I am currently a fourth year medical student at Brown University. I have extensive experience in the biological sciences even from a young age when in high school I ran a science tutoring program. During my undergraduate college years, I was a TA for several biology courses as well as a chemistry course. I also have experience teaching high school students topics in medical pathophysiology.
I have a passion for biology and it shows in my teaching style. I am very thorough and detail oriented. I ensure that the student leaves the session having an understanding as well as a mastery over the material. Largely, I use a question and answer style. In my perspective, it is very important for the student to take an active role in his or her learning. As such, I will encourage my students to teach me the material as a way to ensure that they have mastered it. I will also use a dry erase board for visual aids. Most importantly, I will work doggedly to ensure that the student is well prepared for any examinations presented.
