Fred helped my son bring his HS math test grades from Ds to As! I am currently recommending Fred to others, and getting great feedback from them as well.
Fred is professional, personable, reliable, responsive, and an excellent teacher.
If my son needs tutoring in Math or Science next year in his first year of college, I would contact Fred even before utilizing college tutoring on campus, due to the outstanding results we experienced.
We highly recommend Fred as a math tutor! He starts by actually getting to know the student and understanding how they learn best, and then he tailors a tutoring program that is customized for each student. He is very easy to work with, flexible with scheduling, accessible, patient, and responsive. Fred has tutored our son as a sophomore and junior in high school where he has been enrolled in Honors and International Baccalaureate level math classes. With Fred's tutoring, he has achieved A's and B's in these advanced classes, and because of his strong academic results, our son was recently honored as a 2015 Rhode Island Scholar Athlete and also received Academic All State recognition. Many thanks to Fred for his support!
Fred has helped my child go from failing math to passing math. My child's grade is in the high 80's.
This student started working with me on Geometry on a weekly basis in March 2015. This student has made great improvements!
He made more confused, than I already was That was the first and last time I will use him. Payed for a tutor and didn't get nothing for it. Couldn't wait for the session to be over.
Whenever I tutor, I make sure to check in with the student mid - stream to make sure that our session is progressing. William gave me no indications that he was more confused. This session that I had with William was roughly 1 1/2 years ago in November 2013.
Fred continues to be a great support to our son. He is patient, prepared and reliable. His teaching methods are creative and informative. Our son is presently working on calculus and Fred has helped him in the past with his physics.
When our son is in a panic and has a test coming up Fred is very flexible and available. It can be difficult to find a right match for your adolescent but Fred makes it work and our son feels comfortable seeking out help and asking questions.
A great support to our son.
My daughter is a biology major at URI who had been struggling in Physics I until she started working with Fred on a weekly basis. The results have been great with increased confidence in the course material and strong exam grades. Fred is very accessible and travels to the university where they meet in the library. She will be continuing to meet with him next semester when she takes Physics II. We both would highly recommend Fred.
Julia has shown great improvement and we have you to thank. Keep up the good work, your teaching methods really work!!!
Fred has helped my son a lot this year to understand the concepts for calculus. He has great teaching skills and is always willing to review the concept using different methods. This isn't the first time we have utilized his tutoring services and have always been happy. I would highly recommend Fred.
My son is currently working with Fred as his tutor in calculus. Fred is very patient, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. We could not be more pleased with WyzAnt Tutoring and cannot express how pleased we are with Fred and his approach towards the tutoring process.
Fred has worked with my son for 4 sessions so far. His help has decreased the anxiety my son has had with Geometry. Fred is always early for a lesson with a clip board and white board in hand for an active lesson. My son looks forward to Fred's help each week!
I highly recommend Fred to tutor your child in math. My son, a high school senior, was failing Statistics/Trigonometry, a required course to graduate and somehow, someway, Fred was able to bring his grade up to above passing in a short period of time. Result: I have a very happy high school Graduate.
Fred is dependable, knowledgeable in his subjects and extremely patient. He was able to immediately determine where the ‘disconnect’ was between my son and Stats/Trig. Fred clearly has experience teaching a variety of students and was easily able to adapt his teaching style to a level that my son could understand.
My son was very comfortable working with Fred and was never afraid to ask questions. Fred answered every single question and yes, the same question, sometimes more than once. Again, Fred is extremely patient and very willing to help. Utilizing Fred as a tutor significantly reduced my son’s test/exam anxiety. My son was able to go to class understanding the subject matter better which allowed him to focus more and relax.
Bottom Line... If your child needs a math tutor, Fred without a doubt should be your choice. He truly has the qualifications and positive attitude to get your child on track for success.
Tutoring with Fred was fruitful. He was energetic and lead well with his math tutoring.
I will definitely contact him again later.
Fred has helped my son since January and helped break down complex problems into manageable pieces. Fred taught him lots of different ways of attacking each problem. I really think it contributed to my son getting a 650 on the SAT. He is also very prompt replying to emails and was flexible if we had to cancel a session.
Fred B. has been tutoring my 9th grade son in physics for the past several months. It has been a great experience. My son finds Fred easy to talk to and excellent at explaining any of the concepts that he still has questions about from his physics class. While my son was initially very hesitant about getting a tutor, he now feels extremely happy to have Fred come to tutor. Having the opportunity to talk through the concepts presented in his physics class one on one, has totally changed his experience of physics and has improved his performance dramatically. In fact, he recently has received an award for the most improved science student for his improvement in physics. I highly recommend Fred B. as a tutor.
Fred B. was a great physics tutor. My daughter's test scores have gone up and she passed the physics course she had been struggling with mid-term.
Fred was a terrific tutor. He was patient and very and understanding. He will be my number one go to tutor in the future. Thanks for being available and thanks for your knowledge Fred.
Fred is an awesome tutor! He is very good with algebra and trigonometry. Fred has been very good with teaching me several ways to approach a problem. He has taught me simple things to remember that can solve anything in trigonometry. I look forward to our tutor sessions with a better understanding on trigonometry and algebra afterwards. I highly recommend Fred to anyway who needs help with college math!
WOW! That is the best way to sum up Fred's skills and abilities. He unexpectedly shocks me with each and every session we had. EVERY problem we worked on, he was able to solve accurately. What I loved most about Fred is 1)he was able to explain the lessons in a way that I can understand very easily. But when my professor would try to explain the lessons, it was SO difficult and complicated to understand. Also, 2)Fred NEVER rushed me. He was always very patient. He understood that it takes a long time for me understand something and had no problem answering my questions. I'm the type of person that would ask a million questions or the same question a million times until I understand it and he never seemed to get frustrated with me like my professor would.
I have nothing but very good things to say about Fred. He is patient, available, thorough, knows his subject, and is able to explain AP calculus to my daughter in a way that she can grasp and apply. In the short time that he has been working with my daughter, she has gone from struggling to get low B's on her tests to getting A's on the two tests she has taken while under his tutelage. He is excellent.
Fred was quick to respond, made time when my daughter needed it, very punctual, but most of all EXCELLENT tutor !!!
In February of this year when it became clear that my son needed a different perspective on AP Calc I wasn't sure where to turn. After finding WyzAnt on line, I was completely impressed with the set up and the ability to read the bios of the different tutors available for this subject. Fred seemed like the perfect fit for my son...his background, his interests and his passion for math. Fred was just what my son needed...a different mind set, a positive energy and a major boost to his self-confidence. I am thrilled to say that thanks to Fred, my son's grades have improved and his passion for math is back on track.
Fred has helped my daughter understand Physics - her test scores have gotten so much better and she no longer dreads going to her Physics class. Thanks!
My daughter has been struggling in AP Physics and AP Calculus, but knows when to call for help! After searching for a tutor that specializes in both, we were fortunate enough to come across Fred. After only a few sessions she scored an 84 on her Calculus test and, get ready...a 98 on her physics test! Fred has also been very flexible with scheduling, fitting us in quickly if another tutoring session is needed before a test. Can't recommend him enough to family and friends!
Fred is very knowledgeable as an Electrical Engineering tutor and as a tutor period. Fred has the ability to read a question and get right to the point, he knows what is being asked and more importantly what is being taught by the type of question being asked. Because Fred can pinpoint this very concept, he is able to expand on the subject at hand by making sure 'the student' understands everything about the question being asked. Fred's approach is very friendly and courteous, he teaches step by step and acknowledges your understanding along the way. I would recommend Fred for any grade level of tutoring whether it were basic to advanced engineering courses.
This was my daughter's first session with Fred and it was awesome. Fred arrived on time and was very friendly. My daughter was very comfortable with him. Sarah said that he gave her background information that she had been missing and helped her with her current assignments. She is excited about Physics now and is looking forward to Physics tomorrow in school because she understands it. We can't wait for him to come back next week.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I strive to develop a student's Algebra skills from the basics of Middle School math and Pre - Algebra. I like to use models that help a student visualize the concepts of Algebra for greater true understanding (and less memorization).
I have succeeded at helping Algebra 2 students by framing the subject as "Algebra 1 on steroids". This involves seeing through the abstractions of Algebra 2, and developing the techniques to translate Algebra 2 level problems to a series of Algebra 1 level problems.
I would welcome the chance to help!
I enjoy tutoring Calculus! Calculus comes naturally to me in ways that I can translate "how it works" to students. My approach has yielded successful results. I model real world situations, then develop understandings of them graphically and analytically with students.
I enjoyed and excelled at my experiences taking differential equations courses at Northeastern University as the courses dealt directly with my major of electrical engineering. I have the ability to help you approach the problems posed by differential equations by tying the problems to real world situations. I can show you how to transform problems to simpler mathematics to reach solutions.
Thank you. I look forward to helping you,
I find that helping students succeed in Geometry helps them to succeed in further areas such as SAT tests, sciences like Physics and Chemistry, and higher maths like Precalculus and Calculus.
To acquire Geometry skills, I work with student to think on paper! This helps them envision what the solutions look like with the process to get to the solution.
I enjoy helping students learn Physics, making the subject highly approachable. I teach Physics as an Adjunct Professor at RWU. The students that adopt the pathways that I model go on to excel in class.
I would welcome the opportunity to let you uncover the beauty of physics.
I enjoy helping students begin their study of higher level math courses like algebra and geometry by allowing them to develop strong number skills with integers and fractions. With my students, I try to develop an adherence to processes using graphical arrangements wherever possible, in order to help them develop confidence in the solutions that they derive.
Precalculus seems like the link to truly higher order math. It combines algebra and geometry. My approach to helping students understand and truly learn precalculus involves introduction to analytic techniques/processes that are easy to master and become second nature.
I would welcome the opportunity to help!
I enjoy helping students learn how to prepare for the SAT test for math.
I use an approach that is methodical and gives students the confidence that they will then use to approach all types of problems that the Math SAT poses.
I enjoy helping students learn techniques to succeed at trigonometry. One student of mine used techniques I developed on his tests and quizzes, when his physics teacher asked him about what he was doing. My student explained the techniques, and his teacher was thrilled. His teacher plans to use my techniques!
