I am a landscape, fine art and event photographer from Bristol, Rhode Island.

I first became interested in photography when I moved to Rhode Island in 2006. I was inspired by the amazing coastal scenes that are so accessible around the state and which were so different from where I grew up in Massachusetts. In my work I try to convey the same excitement and awe at seeing the beautiful scenes around me as I felt when I first moved to Rhode Island. I have been fortunate to discover some truly amazing places through my photography, and I feel that this art can and should serve as a reminder of the natural beauty around us, as a way of taking a time-out from the everyday grind of life.

My work has been published in Rhode Island Monthly magazine and Landscape Photography Magazine. I was also selected as a featured artist in the 2010 Artists for Save the Bay Exhibition and Sale, and have won awards from Think Tank Photo and WPRI.

I enjoy teaching others who are interested in learning the art of photography, whether they are interested in shooting portraits, landscapes, events, etc. The best way to learn photography is through practice and continual feedback, so that's primarily how I approach teaching. Depending on the student's interest, such as if a student is interested in learning to shoot landscapes, we might meet on location at a park or beach, survey the location and figure out what we want to shoot, where the best light is, what perspective we want to shoot from, what factors would influence the way we approach shooting in the given situation, and then just get down to shooting. During the shoot, I offer feedback and answer questions that the student may have on using their camera, composition, handling the light, etc. Finally, after the shoot I would provide assistance with post-processing, whether in person or through email feedback.
