I love to learn and love to teach. Most of us don't need everything that we learn in school, but it should be enjoyable to learn about math or Spanish even if we never use it on a daily basis. We were meant to be curious, skeptical and creative. We shouldn't fear to ask questions, stretch our minds or admit that we don't know it all. Learning helps us feel young and alive. The success of learning something new or something difficult inspires us to continue to grow and gives us a sense of accomplishment and much needed self-esteem. I'm looking forward to learning about each student I teach and helping them reach their specific goals.
Here is some of my background. My major in college was physics. I worked at Juniata College as a physics lab assistant and as the student observatory director. I helped college students learn math and physics and tutored students in astronomy. Spanish was my minor in college, and I spent a month in Mexico and 5 months in Ecuador. I have tutored students in Spanish. In addition, I am certified in elementary and special education in Pennsylvania. I taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. I now own an art studio and gallery and teach art classes to adults and children.
