I am a third year Biochemistry major (Currently at UofD). I have a true passion for literature in addition to my love of biology and chemistry. Through high school I took multiple AP classes including AP Lit, AP Bio, AP Chem, and AP Euro. All of my classes that were not AP were Honors classes, so I can relate to high school students dealing with large workloads, and I know how to study efficiently. I also love to help elementary and middle school students with any subject they need help in. With anyone I help, I want to make sure they fully understand the subject matter and motivate them to enjoy learning about the subject.
I have been a Teaching Assistant for chemistry and biology at college, and I have helped many of my classmates with studying for our classes. I also have experience with my three younger brothers whom I am constantly helping with test preparation in their high school classes.
When I am tutoring someone, I try and give as few hints and prompts as possible. I want my students to become independent learners who have their own problem solving abilities to use when hints are not available to them. I encourage students to think independently while I act as a guide to finding the answers and developing a strong independent thought process.
