Please accept my sincerest welcome. I am excited to facilitate tutoring sessions with you in Geology, Astronomy or Physical Science. I am a graduate of West Chester University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Geoscience Education and 12 credits toward a Master's Degree. I have been teaching science for the past twelve years.
With my major in Geoscience and secondary teaching certificate, I am particularly interested in utilizing my skills and knowledge in a tutoring setting where I can focus on making the students comfortable, and teach the science so that the students understand. Students should not be afraid of science and begin to love the discovery and magic in science.
I believe my years of experience in the Geoscience and Microscopy fields, as well as completing a Minority Fellowship at NASA in Planetary Volcanology, combined with my experience as a science educator of a diverse population of students, qualifies me to tutor in the science subjects of Geology, Astronomy and Physical Science.
It is my goal to be an enthusiastic, patient and compassionate educator / tutor, who will make a positive contribution to my students' science learning. A primary objective I would like to implement is igniting the interest and passion in these subjects as well as helping my students pass their classes. I primarily will tutor one on one close to home in West Chester, Downingtown, Coatesville, or Thorndale.
Additionally, I am currently serving as an honorary member of the M.A. Geoscience Advisory Board for the West Chester University Department of Geology and Astronomy.
My hobbies are teaching Sunday school, reading, doing crafts, painting, drawing, writing poetry, writing adult & children’s stories, crocheting, taking piano, and singing.
I look forward to hearing from you and remember, stay positive and reach the stars!
