My name is Jennifer, and I am an elementary school teacher. I graduated in 2005 from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics and French. I am certified in elementary and early childhood education, math (7-12), and French (K-12). I also earned my Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University. I have taught third grade for the past six years and also have experience in second grade and prekindergarten. These experiences have given me an opportunity to put into practice many effective teaching strategies. I have tutored in a number of different areas, including elementary reading and math, high school math, and college math and French. In addition, I studied piano for 17 years and have taught piano lessons to beginning students for three years. I believe that students learn in different ways and draw upon various teaching styles and strategies to meet the needs of each individual student. I strive to engage students in authentic, hands-on learning experiences because I believe that children learn best when they are actively involved.
