Hello,
I have a PhD in Physiology awarded in 1980, and conducted bench research into gastrointestinal physiology and biochemistry for 12 years. In 1986, I joined GlaxoSmithkline Pharmaceuticals (then Smith Kline and French Labs) and managed clinical trials in the gastrointestinal and psychiatric therapeutic areas. My position as Director, clinical R&D was terminated in January 2010 with closure of the Neurosciences R&D unit in Philadelphia.
As a postdoctoral student at University of California, San Francisco, I taught gastrointestinal physiology and endocrinology to pharmacy students between 1982 and 1986. Between 2009 and 2010, I taught 3 semesters of Human Anatomy and Physiology as an Adjunct Instructor at Delaware County Community College. Since then, I volunteer at my church, and have become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician and work at the Radnor Fire Company.
As a retiree who has been blessed with a good education and experience in basic and clinical research, I wish to 'give something back' by teaching. Aside from tutoring, I am applying to local colleges and universities as an adjunct instructor.
Sincerely,
Daniel B., Ph.D.
