I have worked for 20 years in the private sector in business and financial services. I currently hold a teaching certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for Business, Information Technology, and Computers in grades K-12. I have used such applications as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access on a professional basis.

My bachelor's degree is in Computer Management Information Systems from Holy Family University. I also have undergraduate experience in teaching Spanish and French and am proficient in Italian and Portuguese. I have also studied German and Dutch and used both conversationally with friends. I have tutored in many subjects including ESL, grammar and spelling, algebra, geometry, biology, and social studies.

I am flexible with different learning styles as I realize not all students learn the same way or at the same rate so I try to adapt my teaching to what works for that individual learner. I offer group rates and discount rates for sessions more than 2 hours.

I have all three of my clearances to work in schools: Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprint Background Check, and Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, which I have on hand for those who request these documents.

Estudiaba español en la escuela secundaria durante cuatro años y varios años en la universidad. Mis vecinos eran de Venezuela en la que crecí y mi cuñado es de Guatemala.

I studied Spanish in high school for four years and several years in college. My neighbors were from Venezuela where I grew up and my brother is in Guatemala.

Accounting

ESL/ESOL

I am fluent in Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. I have tutored neighbors especially from Latin American countries in English and also have passed the WyzAnt tests in English and Grammar. I am a substitute teacher and have taught anything from Phonics in elementary school to Linguistics in college.

I have used Microsoft Access professionally for database management while in the financial services field and hold a B.A. in Computer Management Information Systems. In addition, I am certified as an Information Technology instructor by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Microsoft Windows

I have tutored students who have never used computers in how to use the Windows operating system and am a certified computer instructor for grades K-12 by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Social Studies

I have passed the tests on Wyzant for American History, European History, Geography, World History, and Government & Politics.

I am also a substitute teacher who has taught Social Studies at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels.
