If you need a tutor in math or chemistry, contact me. I am an experienced chemistry and mathematics tutor that would love the opportunity to work with you or your family. I have worked in the past as an adjunct chemistry professor at Immaculata University, La Salle University, Temple University, and Lancaster General College. Currently, I am employed as an Instructor and Nursing Program Chemistry Coordinator at La Salle University. I absolutely love teaching.
I received my BA in chemistry and biochemistry with a minor in forensic studies from La Salle University in Philadelphia in 2007. During my time at La Salle, I acted as both a teaching assistant in the laboratories, as well as a tutor to the students after class.
I received my MS in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame in January 2010. I originally enrolled in the PhD program there, but found that I had a much greater passion for teaching than for research. While there, I acted as a teaching assistant for 5 semesters teaching general chemistry.
I have also acted as a tutor outside of class. I have tutored over 1000 hours through this company in conjunction with other tutoring jobs. I have also worked at a summer enrichment school teaching Prealgebra, Algebra II, and Geometry to middle and high school students. My students range from middle and high school students studying all subjects to college general chemistry students. The students that I work with who apply themselves have shown dramatic improvement in just a few short months.
I have the philosophy that everyone can learn with enough effort and also realize that not everyone learns by the same methods. As a tutor, I see it as my job to build upon the material given in the classroom to help students to understand. Sometimes this means simply reiterating the material; however, sometimes, it takes a creative approach to help something make sense. I feel that no time is too much time taken with a student as long as they understand the concept by the end of the session.
I am currently looking for a student who would want to work together for the summer months. My schedule will open up significantly mid-May.
