Hi! My name is Brian, and I am a junior at Penn State University majoring in Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences. I was the class valedictorian in high school. I was also heavily involved in the Boy Scouts, and am an Eagle Scout with 6 palms.

I have been tutoring people of all ages for 6 years now, and I really enjoy helping out in any way I can. I specialize in math and can instruct any math class up to and including College level Calculus 4, including Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations. I scored a perfect 800 on the math section of the SAT's, won the 2009 Times Leader's Best and Brightest Award in Math, and was voted Most Likely to Succeed by my peers. I am very interested tutoring high school students in SAT Math, including not only the regular SAT Math section, but also the higher level Subject Test Math level 1 and 2. In addition, I can teach high school and college level Chemistry 1 and 2, as well as high school and college level Physics 1 and 2.

Differential Equations

I have completed a class in Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, and I have also done some independent research work into the works of specific types of differential equations such as periodic solution equations and time delayed Diff EQ's. In addition, I have tutored this subject several times and I feel very comfortable with the material.

C++

I am very familiar with computer programming in general and especially with C++. I specialize in C++ for engineering, math, and science applications, but I am familiar with it for other uses as well. I can tutor subjects in C++ ranging from simple operations to arrays to structures and loops to user-defined functions. As a tutor, I can help you write programs, help you with difficult programming questions, and/or check over programs that you have written yourself.

Actuarial Science

I am currently a major in math with a concentration in actuarial science at Penn State, and so far I have taken several actuarial courses in preparation for the actuarial exams. I am also a teaching assistant for an upper level actuarial science class, so I am well versed in all the difficulties that student encounter in these classes.

Dreamweaver

I am very well versed in website design and layout, with Dreamweaver and Fireworks being my programs of choice. I can use the many functions of Dreamweaver to add flash, javascript, and HTML elements to your web page, as well as managing CSS style sheets and setting up FTP connections. I have had a great deal of experience with tutoring for the SAT's, and as a result I have tutored many people for the PSAT's as well. I am especially interested in tutoring for the math section, on which I achieved a perfect score of 800 when I took the SAT's. For more than three years, I have been tutoring for this and other standardized tests, and to date every student I have had has greatly improved their test scores.
